The color white

My collection of white servware.

Dinner

Aloo mattar gobi, left over sweet potatoes, cucumber, onion, tomato and carrot koshimbeer (salsa?) and whole wheat chappati. Did I mention we eat a lot of bread?

Daily Bread

We do eat a lot of bread in our house. In addition to this one, walnut cranberry from Central Market, we always have generic whole wheat and a sourdough plus some artisan breads from a neighborhood German bakery.

Going to the temple

The Hindu temple in DFW is 40 minutes drive for us and we rarely if ever go for darshan. We are not that religious anyways, but when the going is good, we get off our butts and drive down to say a silent "thank you".

Lost and found

I had forgotten about it for a whole year before I found this necklace in one of my winter coat pockets! It was bought in a wholesale jewelry store for $4.

Empty Nest

There are two nests in the tree on my front yard. I think they are both empty but I may be wrong. Or the birds may come back once spring sets in.

Horses above my door

Shadow in curves

This handthrown ceramic pot was my first art purchase from a talented student in my class. His name of all things was Darirus! I love how the morning sun cast a symmytrical bulbous shadow of the pot.

I love trains

We went to the train parking again! (I should probably stop putting exclaimation points with every train pic since they are going to be a recurring theme).

Veg stock for the soul?

Not much happened today but the stock was made with left over kale, celery and some frozen corn left over from who knows when.

Mermaid Boot Jack

Mermaid: Half woman, half fish.
Boot Jack: a device to grip a boot heel, for helping a person to pull off boots.

Ceiling

The foyer ceiling of the children's museum of science and history. A regular three hour haunt for us, this ceiling is way cooler than it looks.

The standing train

We do love our trains, even if they are permanently parked and rusted.

We saw a moving train on the way to see a standing train!

Breakfast

Breakfast with my four year old has been reduced to three days a week since his preschool started.

Indulgence

Left over ice cream pints from the Fall are beginning to form ice crystals. Decluttering the freezer was never sweeter :).

Broke Ass

Left over from yesterday night's mushroom, fenugreek risotto. And no, sticking to my new year resolution, I did not drink any wine. Doesn't count in the risotto cause the alcohol evaporates, I think.

Future train driver?!

What started with a $8 garage sale Geotrax train set has grown into a roomfull of trains, tracks, various landing stations and a few hundered bucks of FisherPrice profit margin.

The Start

Thought I would start with where it all goes down. Plus, I am new at this.
