I thought one got these kind of colours on cakes only in the small towns of India - that too, long ago, not nowadays. :-D
Puts you in a party mood, but, yes, they taste pretty awful, mostly cheap sugars and fats. Have you ever seen the blog called Cake Wrecks? The "creations" look as ghastly as they taste. Very funny site.
